Keep On Living Turkey is a collaborative project that was started in 2010, between Aksigorta A.Þ. (insurance company) and AKUT (search and rescue association). The project aims to educate the citizens of the catastrophe prone country and take their attention to risk mitigation issues.
Within the project an earthquake simulation truck will travel around the country and visit certain cities until May 26. The route for this event can be followed from the project web site given below.
These kind of social responsibility projects are crucial in educating people living in Turkey about the reality of catastrophes. The devastating 1999 Marmara Earthquake has been long forgotten by many and it is already time that pre event precautions are organized and extablished throughout the country for further possible events.
